This event is jointly hosted by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and the Marine Technology Society. It is open to all students registered for the OCEANS 2024 conference. The event provides an opportunity for the students to network with their peers, learn about the research projects and activities of the other attendees, and meet the leadership from both Societies, all while enjoying food and beverages.

IEEE OES Women in Engineering (WIE) are proud to host a special session breakfast panel at OCEANS, Singapore, on “Women's Impact on Emerging Technologies: Shaping the Future”

The panel discussion on "Women in Engineering" at the IEEE/MTS OCEANS conference, Singapore 2024 will explore the theme of "Women's Impact on Emerging Technologies: Shaping the Future" through the lens of women's contributions and experiences. This discussion will highlight the pivotal role of women in shaping and advancing emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy etc. Topics will include highlighting impactful research and development projects led by women, discussing essential skill sets for success in emerging technology fields, addressing the gender gap, promoting diversity and inclusion, and exploring future trends and opportunities. By showcasing successful women-led initiatives and projects, the panel aims to inspire and empower women to pursue and excel in emerging technology careers while advocating for gender equity and inclusivity in the engineering industry.

This event is jointly organized by the IEEE Oceanic Engineering Society and the Marine Technology Society and will be an unique opportunity to delve into the world of proposal writing and career development in the ocean industry. This event is tailored for IEEE OES Young Professionals (YPs) and MTS Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) and will provide a safe space for YPs and ECOPs to gain valuable perspectives on navigating funding opportunities and shaping their career paths.

Participants will be able to engage with panelists who will share their insights, practical advice, and personal experiences - creating an open platform for learning and discussion.

The event will be run over lunch and food and beverages will be available.
